Freeway will not run on recent versions of macOS

Freeway is a 32-bit application. It won't run under the latest versions of macOS (from Catalina onwards) because Apple have dropped support for 32-bit applications and have abandoned many of the system APIs that Freeway uses.

We have developed Xway as a replacement for Freeway.

If you wish to continue using Freeway, you may want to keep a separate machine that can run an older version of macOS. Alternatively, If you have an Intel Mac, you could keep an old version of macOS on a separate volume, or run an old version of macOS in a VM, such as VMware Fusion or Parallels Desktop.

Forget about the code. Focus on design.

Freeway for Mac was developed to make designing sophisticated and standards-based websites easy. With a streamlined interface that’s just like using your favorite image editing applications, we made it easy for you to create HTML content without having to touch a line of code.

Though development of Freeway was discontinued with Apple abandoning technologies Freeway relied on, we continue with this goal in our development of Xway, redesigned and built from scratch to reflect today’s Web.

Freeway Express

Freeway Express was an alternative to Freeway Pro at a lower price point with fewer advanced features. The final version of Freeway 6 Express was made freely available and development was discontinued.

Showcase

Showcase was a free gallery and slideshow application designed to work exclusively with Freeway. It is no longer actively developed and has been replaced by Exhibeo, featuring a theme similar to that generated by Showcase along with additional themes to choose from.

Tutorials

We created a number of video tutorials to help with using various features of Freeway which can be found on YouTube. The videos for previous versions remain relevant, though bear in mind that the interface may differ slightly.
